I have just returned from the Winters' home. Mrs. Winters did not answer the door but her car was in the driveway, how peculiar! She must be ignoring me, this means that something big has happened and I'm right on the case!

Something Fishy...

Salutations!

I noticed that Mrs. Winters, my neighbour from the house I heard the screaming from, did not leave her house and go to work today. Her car is still in the driveway, but her husband will be comming home in about an hour. If she doesn't go to work tomorrow, I'll pay her a visit; a good detective should only interrogate possible victims without the suspect around. However, if she does go to work, I'll snoop through her garbage.

A new case!

Salutations,
I have been receiving complaints of weird noises in a neighbourhood. The comment was that it counded like women screaming/fighting. I'm going to have to investigate this further before I post more details.

Update:..... I scoped the area with my telescope some more but came up empty handed in the graffiti bandit case. However, there have been no signs of new action so it is not that big of a deal right now.

Day 2

Salutations,
I went to interview the folks at the automechanic shop. They weren't very friendly. They were also not helpful at all. In fact they didn't a) know what graffiti I was refering too and b) seem to care. It's their neighbourhood, not mine!
Anyways I also realized that there is a sportsbar in the area. I went inside and the barhop (Skippy) told me that there were penty of drunk people who take out their frustrations after the Leafs lose a game. He offered that it could have been one of them. I'm going to have to side with Skippy... although he seems to be hiding something.

I guess I'm going to call this another successful case. I'll recheck the area for one more day but otherwise it's case closed.

Day 1

Salutations.
I have begun my mission.

1. Find a good place to scope: I have found a good spot in a Chinese Restaurant at the end of the street in question. It has big windows to look out of and the people are not nosy.
2. Scan the area: I looked around the area and it seemed pretty empty until I realized that there were 3 automechanic shops in the area. They are all suspects. I will stop by there soon and see what I can find out.
3. Observe: I have been observing the area in question. Not really much that goes on. It's a good idea to check up on the area in intervals. Also if you have a video camera you can run it while you take a break.

I have discovered that a once clean wall has been littered with graffitti. Also the road has garbage all around it. Hmm... this is something to consider. What does the messgae mean? It looks like it says help. Could somebody be in danger. I'm going to use my telescope method to see what I can find out.

Weather Conditions...

Salutations!

Oh well I forgot to mention some vital information. Always check the weather!
If it's a foggy day that equals "hard to see".
Rain is also not a good thing, you want clear sunny conditions with minimal wind.
The wind could affect the bug that you plant (more information on that in my future posts).

Today was a cloudy day, I forgot to check the weather. It was also snowing. I checked the forecast for the next few days it seems like it will be relatively clear. I will continue the lesson then.

An Important History Lesson

Well as promised here is the history lesson. Now remember spying is a process... which is why I am giving as much background informationa s possible before beginning.
So moving on, I was once asked where my world famous 'Telescope Method' came from. Someone commented that it was stolen from Alfred Hitchcock's hit movie 'Rear Window'. In this movie Jimmy Stewart uses a telescope to "spy" and in the process catches a murderer (oops I ruined the movie for you!). This is completely false.

My method was created in 1952 and Hitchcock reading one of my many papers borrowed the method for a movie. In conclusion my method is very effective... even a man confined to a wheelchair can effectively use it. But after the movie everyone thought it was very easy to spy on people. The movie glamourized a lot of the aspects. Not everyone will have the luxury of sitting at their own window. You have to get out there people!

Rules of Spying

Salutations,

I have received thousands of letters over the years of failed spying. How does one know if they have failed? An uneducated person might say that if you do not gather information on your suspect you have failed! That is utterly false! It does not matter if you cannot gather information on your suspect, that is besides the point.
Besides the point you say? But how? What can be more important than gathering information, I thought that was the point of spying!?! Well it may be the goal, but there is more to spying then gathering clues and information on suspects! Here is where I highlight my infamous rules to spying:

1. Don't get caught
2. Do not ever get caught!
3. See rule 1 & 2 for further emphasis...

In conclusion do not get caught! I cannot emphasize that enough. If you do... your career in spying... sleuthing... whatever is over! Next lesson... the history of Dr. Spy. A lesson all about me.. but why? Because I am the greatest!

Getting Started

Salutations,
I know everybody wants to dive right into the meat of spying... but that's how you get caught. Spying is a very intricate process that must be digested and practiced before you can accomplish anything. Also... there are many tools you need before you can spy... You cannot simply follow people. There are also many methods of spying. For now I will higlight my own infamous "Telescope Method". To spy using the telescope method you'll need the following tools....

An eye: for seeing of course!

A telescope: so that you can be a far distance away but still be able to view the ongoings of your subject...

A good area for viewing: I would recommend a place indoors where you can setup and not be bothered. However depending on the situation you may have to be outside... try hiding behind some bushes or perching in a tree.

Now these are your basic tools. My lessons will highlight how to use them and we may also add more sophisticated gadgets. Stay Tuned...
